It didn’t start as a business.

"I knew what it felt like to build something without a clear direction."
It actually started while my family was opening a business of our own.
At the same time, I had just graduated with a degree in journalism. Everything felt new. We were building something from the ground up with no following, no real support, and honestly no clear roadmap. It was just us figuring things out as we went.
I learnt everything from scratch during that time. And one thing that stood out very quickly was how powerful social media and word of mouth actually are. That’s what started bringing people in. That’s what made people notice us.
But at the same time, I could see how easy it was to feel lost in it all.
I’ve always been into creating. Since I was young, I was the one making invitations for birthdays, then it turned into wedding invitations, little things like that. I never really thought much of it, it was just something I enjoyed.
Now everyone is a content creator. You can pick up your phone, film something, post it, and call it content. But what I kept noticing was that a lot of businesses were doing that without any real direction behind it.
There was no clear brand, no strategy, nothing tying it all together. Just content for the sake of posting.
That’s where things started to shift for me.
Because creating content is one thing, but building a brand that actually makes sense is something completely different.
Through working on our own business, and later helping others, I realised how much I cared about that part. The details. The story behind a business. How everything connects.
That’s when it clicked for me that what I studied in journalism and what I was doing in marketing weren’t separate at all. They actually work together.
One is about storytelling.
The other is about how that story shows up.
I went on to complete my Masters in Marketing and Digital Communication, but more importantly, I spent months thinking about what I would have needed when we first started.
Not just services, but real support. Clear direction. Someone to help make things make sense.
That’s what MY Strategy came from.
My aim is to take away that initial stress and uncertainty that comes with building a business, especially in the early stages. Because I know how overwhelming it can feel when everything depends on you.
Every business I work with, I treat like it’s my own. Not in a cliché way, but because I understand what it feels like to care that much about something you’re building.
And when things are done with the right direction behind them, everything starts to feel a lot more clear.
